Stephen Ryan
Director
Stephen holds a Bachelor of Business. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a Registered Tax Agent. Stephen began his professional career over 30 years ago and his early years were spent in the tax, accounting and insolvency divisions of the large chartered accounting firm Deloittes. In 1990 Stephen established Edney Ryan as principal and now focuses on strategic planning, wealth creation and business structuring for clients. He has a personal interest in real estate investment and property development. Stephen’s strength is his ability to take a strategic approach to develop opportunities and drive business growth.
David Shehade
Director
David joined the Edney Ryan Group in 1994. Prior to joining the group, David worked at KPMG in the Audit division. David holds a Bachelor of Business, is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants is a Registered Tax Agent and Registered Company Auditor. Business advisory and taxation structuring, particularly the use of companies and trusts are areas in which David specialises. David has a particular expertise in issues affecting construction, veterinary, childcare and real estate industries
Carolyn Griffin
Director
Carolyn has been with Edney Ryan since its inception. Carolyn holds a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Accounting. She is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and is a Registered Tax Agent. Prior to joining Edney Ryan, Carolyn held the positions of financial controller and company secretary for two publicly listed companies and worked for Deloittes as a manager in the audit and small business accounting divisions. Carolyn uses her experience to create the best possible outcomes for her clients, which include many high net worth individuals. Carolyn is particularly skilled in managing tax issues, estate plans and financial concerns for family groups.
Matthew Stewart
Director
Matthew joined the Edney Ryan Group in 1997. Matthew worked in the Banking and Finance industry in the UK and with KPMG in their Audit, Advisory and Corporate Recovery divisions. Matthew holds a Bachelor of Financial Administration, a Masters in Taxation, is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and is a Registered Tax Agent. Business development, wealth creation and protection are areas on which Matthew focuses. Many of Matthew’s clients are wealth accumulators, executives and high net worth individuals. Matthew has an expertise in executive salary packaging options, international tax and the use of trusts in the establishment and administration of SMSF; all to ensure optimal tax efficiency in the creation of client wealth.
Evelyn Christian
Director
Evelyn joined Edney Ryan in 2003 and became director in 2019. Evelyn’s qualifications include degrees in Applied Finance and Commerce (Accounting), and a Diploma of Financial Planning. She is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ). Evelyn’s clients include professionals and family groups for whom she provides strategic tax consulting and management of complex financial affairs. Evelyn also applies her extensive experience in compliance services for businesses which operate across diverse industries.
Professional Accounting Team
We have a team of support staff dedicated to assist our directors to deliver the best possible service and solutions to clients. All professionals who support our directors are tertiary qualified. In addition, they have extensive accounting experience gained in both the professional and commercial arena.
Robert Cameron
Robert joined Edney Ryan in 2011 with six years’ experience in public practice, having previously worked for another mid-tier accounting firm. Robert has completed a Bachelor of Business (Majoring in Accounting) and is working towards CA certification. He is currently providing tax and accounting services to a wide variety of clients including handling SMSF’s and trusts, and working on businesses spanning many industries.
Lynette Chambers
Lynette started at Edney Ryan in 2013, with 5 years prior experience in accounting practice working on a wide variety of industries and clients. Lynette has a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from Macquarie University, and has completed the Chartered Accountants program.
David Humphreys
David joined Edney Ryan Chartered Accountants in 2017, with 8 years’ experience in public practice, covering a wide variety of industries and clients. David holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from Macquarie University and is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ). He currently works across many industries and entity types, including SMSFs.
Brooke Murphy
Brooke joined Edney Ryan in 2017. Brooke is an ACCA qualified accountant, and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Sydney. She has more than twelve years of experience in London at institutions such as Daiwa Capital Markets, Royal Bank of Scotland and Credit Suisse, where she was responsible for regulatory reporting in finance departments and implementation of regulatory software systems. Currently Brooke’s role is the ASIC Compliance Officer.
Olena Shepetukhina
Olena joined Edney Ryan in 2011 with more than 6 years’ experience in public practice. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Economics and a Masters of Professional Accounting. Olena is a Chartered Tax Adviser currently providing tax and accounting services to a wide variety of clients including handling SMSF’s and trusts, and businesses spanning many industries.
Jenny Vidaic
Jenny joined Edney Ryan in 2006 with many years of experience working at Deloitte’s and in the Financial Services and Insurance Industry as a Management Accountant. Jenny is Office Manager and has responsibility for the Edney Ryan Group internal management accounting and reporting. Jenny is a member of the Institute of Public Accountants.
