Edney Ryan Group is proud to be a Bronze Sponsor of the Balmoral Swim for Cancer, a family-friendly open water, charity event raising funds for the Children’s Cancer Institute. It is a unique event as it is one of the few swims held within the safety and beauty of Sydney Harbour. A great event for all comers.
The swim is organised completely by volunteers, most of whom are members of the Balmoral Beach Club. However, the entire local community gets behind the event to make it happen. Mosman Council, HMAS Penguin and the Balmoral Sea Scouts all lend a hand.
Children’s Cancer Institute is the proud beneficiary of funds raised to date, with a total of $815,134 being donated. Children’s Cancer Institute is the only independent medical research institute in Australia wholly dedicated to curing childhood cancer, research into the causes, better treatment, prevention, and cure of childhood cancer.
Every one of our supporters makes a difference to a child in need. It’s because of our passionate and dedicated supporters in our local communities that we are able to do our research to one day cure childhood cancer.
This year, “the 27th swim” is being held on Sunday 18th March 2018.

- School’s Relay Challenge (4 x 250m)
- Corporate Team Challenge
- Junior Swim – under 12s (250m)
- Dashes for Glory – Anita Comelli Trophy
And if you are not a swimmer you can still be part of this community event. Enjoy entertainment from the Royal Australian Navy Band playing in the Rotunda; visit the mock laboratory from the Children’s Cancer Institute or indulge in the fare from numerous food stalls.
